SharePoint - Configuration Guide

Overview

SharePoint Connector integrates the TechnoMile Growth Suite with your online Microsoft SharePoint site. This allows your team to centralize all documents and files associated with an Opportunity or any other entity into a single, online repository and then quickly and conveniently access them directly from your Growth solution.

TechnoMile’s SharePoint Connector auto-generates a standardized folder structure upon the creation of a new Opportunity record, enforcing clean, consistent organization of files in SharePoint and making them easy for users to find and share.

Audience

  • Microsoft Dynamics Administrators

  • IT Support

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that TechnoMile's Growth Suite is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2026.1 or higher.

Configure Server-based SharePoint Integration

  1. Login to your Microsoft Dynamics instance.

  2. Click the gear icon and select Advanced Settings.

  3. Scroll down to Document Management and click Configure server-based SharePoint integration.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Choose Online and click Next.

  6. Enter your SharePoint Site URL for integration and click Next.

    Validation succeeded message displays.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Click Next again.

  9. Click Done.

  10. Click SharePoint sites.

Your validated SharePoint site that is integrated successfully displays.

Configure Document Management System

  1. In Document Management, click Document management settings.

  2. Scroll down to select the Opportunity entity and click Next.

  3. Enter your SharePoint site URL and click Validate URL.

    URL is validated.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Next again.

  6. Click Finish.

  7. Click Close.

  8. Go to Opportunities and click New.

  9. Enter data in all mandatory fields such as Opportunity Name, specify a Group, and click Save.

    Opportunity record is created.

    Important:

Once the Opportunity record is created, wait for a minimum of 15 seconds prior to opening its Documents tab, so as to ensure that both the required SharePoint folder structure and Document location are also created in the background. This is necessary because it is an asynchronous process that takes some time to complete.

  10. Go to the Documents tab.

  11. On the Documents tab, click Open Location and select the Opportunity record listed.

Your SharePoint site opens displaying a standardized folder structure for the Opportunity record with its Name and Group details visible in the folder names.
