Overview

The GovSearch People Connector allows you to match an existing Salesforce Contact with GovSearch data, create a new Contact from GovSearch data, and update select Salesforce Contact fields using GovSearch data. It brings in information into various tabs such as Overview that contains details about Contact from GovSearch, Agency/Office Info with list of other people at Contact’s Agency, and Position Info with list of other people who had held the same job as Contact.

This document is a step-by-step guide on how you can configure the GovSearch People Connector for use in your Salesforce org.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that GovSearchAI Connector - Sales Cloud Edition is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2024.2 or higher.

Steps for Configuration

Assign Permission Set

  1. Click the gear icon and select Setup.

  2. Go to Permission Sets using Setup search.

  3. Scroll down and click to open Competitive Insights User.

  4. Click Manage Assignments.
     

  5. Click Add Assignment.

  6. Select a User and click Next.

  7. Click Assign.

  8. Permission Set is assigned to the selected User, click Done.

Provide Access to Standard & Custom Objects

  1. Go to Profiles using Setup search.

  2. Go to a Profile that you want to provide Analytics access to.

    Note:

    In this document, permissions have been provided to ONE Profile. However, you can provide the same permissions to as many Profiles as per your requirements.

  3. Click Edit and scroll down to give Standard and Custom Object Permissions.mceclip23.png

  4. For Standard Object Permissions, ensure that you select the following checkboxes.

  5. For Custom Object Permissions, ensure that you select the following checkboxes.

  6. Click Save.

Provide Access to Standard Fields

  1. Scroll down to Standard Field-Level Security and click View to edit the following Standard Field-Level Security fields.

  2. Click Edit to select the fields for defining the Contact Field-Level Security and click Save.

Configure Remote Site Settings

Important:

Ensure that you have retrieved the Remote Site URL from TechnoMile Support.

  1. Go to Remote Site Settings using Setup search.

  2. Click New Remote Site. mceclip30.png

  3. Enter Remote Site Name as CompetitiveInsightsAPIURL and Remote Site URL as https://portal.technomile.com, select the Active checkbox, and click Save.

Assign Page Layout to Contact Object

  1. Go to Object Manager, enter text Contact in the search bar, and click Contact.

  2. In Contact Object Manager, go to Page Layouts and click Page Layout Assignment.

  3. Click Edit Assignment.

  4. Press the Ctrl key to select the desired Profile that you want to assign a Page Layout to.

  5. Select Page Layout To Use as CI OOB Contact Layout and click Save.
    CI OOB Contact Layout is assigned as Page Layout for selected Profile of the Contact object.

Configure Custom Settings

  1. Open App Launcher, enter text analytics configuration page in the search bar, and click Analytics Configuration Page in search results.

TM Analytics Admin Utility Tool page opens.

Configure TM Analytics Webservice Endpoint

Important Prerequisite: Ensure that you have retrieved all the required Endpoint URLs from TechnoMile Support.

  1. Scroll down to TM Analytics Webservice Endpoint and click the gear icon against AnalyticsPortalURL.

  2. Enter Endpoint URL and click Submit.

  3. Click the gear icon against CompetitiveInsightsAPIURL.

  4. Enter Endpoint URL and click Submit.mceclip2.png

Configure TM Analytics GovSearchAI Setting

Important Prerequisite: Ensure that you have retrieved all the required TM Analytics GovSearchAI  Setting details as listed above from TechnoMile Support.

  1. Go to TM Analytics GovSearchAI Setting and click the gear icon.

  2. Enter details such as Username, Password, Client ID, Client ID for Token, and Client Secret for Token and click Submit.
    All Custom Settings are configured.

Add GovSearch Tab to Contact Record Page

  1. Go to a Contact record page using App Launcher.

  2. Click the gear icon and select Edit Page.

    opens.

  3. Go to any tab and click Add Tab.

  4. Click Details and select Custom as Tab Label.

  5. Enter GovSearch as Custom Label and click Done.

  6. Go to the GovSearch tab and drag-and-drop the TM_Analytics_ContactWidgetCmp component onto this tab.

  7. Click Save.

    A popup window opens.

  8. Click Activate.mceclip45.png

  9. Click Assign as Org Default.

  10. Choose Desktop and click Next.mceclip47.png

  11. Click Save.
    Contact Record Page is assigned as Org Default.

  12. Click Back.
    Contact record page opens with the GovSearch tab on it.
    Add GovSearch Tab to Account Record Page

    1. Go to Lightning App Builder of an Account record page and add the GovSearch tab onto the page.

    2. Drag-and-drop the TM_AccountContactWidgetCmp component onto this tab.

    3. Save and activate the page.

    4. Go back to your Account record page to view the GovSearch tab.
