Many clients choose to modify their stages during TechnoMile Implementation to better match their business process. If you wish to modify stages in the TechnoMile Growth Suite, it is important that you take this information into account prior to making changes to your stage configuration.
It is best practice to make these changes in a sandbox environment and perform an end-end testing of the system after the changes have been made to ensure that there are no unintended changes to the functionality of your system.
IMPORTANT
It is highly recommended to not rename/change the stage values for Closed Won, Closed Lost, and No-Bid (Salesforce Platform only). These values have many product features tied to them that would be difficult to replicate.
Item | Reason |
|---|---|
Validation Rules | It is recommended to double check all validation rules for the specific stage value that you are changing. If this validation rule is packaged, it will need to be deactivated and recreated using the new stage value. |
Process Builders/Flows | It is recommended to double check any automations that were created during implementation, if these are tied directly to a stage value, they will have to be updated in order for them to continue working as planned. This could include email alerts as well if there are any that are tied to a specific stage. |
Scorecard | Scorecard items are tied to specific stages, the popup functionality when moving between stages will not work if the Stage Names do not match. It is recommended to update the Scorecard stages. |
PWin | This functionality will continue to work; however, the stage names might be out of sync, in order to help with the user experience it is recommended to update the P-Win stage names. |
Reports and Dashboards | If you have setup reports/dashboards to look at specific stages these will have to be updated to the correct stage values. There is no way to mass update reports/dashboards. |
Approval Processes | Approval processes are frequently tied to specific stages, modifying stages could break an existing approval process. |
