POP and CLIN/SLINs Widgets in Proposals User Guide

This user guide provides instructions for managing Periods of Performance (POPs) and CLIN/SLINs records within a proposal using widgets.

Using the POP Widget

The POP widget allows you to view, add, and edit POPs associated with a proposal. It centralizes timeline, cost, and pricing details for each POP record in one structured table. 

To view all the POPs associated with a Proposal record:

  1. In your Microsoft Dynamics instance, go to Proposals.

  2. Open a Proposal record and go to the POP tab.
    The available POPs are listed here.

  3. Use the Search option to locate the required POP.

Customizing the POP Table

To customize columns on the POP table:

  1. In the POP tab, click the Settings icon.14-2.pngThe Customize Columns window opens.

  2. Use the drag handle to reorder columns, and click the eye icon to show or hide columns as needed.14-3.png

  3. Click Apply Changes to save your preferences.

Using Column Filters

Each column header includes a Filter icon that allows you to narrow down the records displayed in the POP table based on specific criteria.

NOTE

You can filter multiple columns at the same time, similar to how multiple filters are applied in Excel.

To use the column filters:

  1. Click the Filter icon next to a column name.

  2. Select or enter the filter criteria.

    The table updates automatically to show only matching records.

  3. Click Clear Filter to return to the full view.14-5.png

Adding a New POP

To add a new POP:

  1. In the POP tab, click Add Period.

  2. The Period name, Start Date, and End Date, are automatically generated by the system.19-7.png

    NOTE

    • The Period name follows a predefined sequence, starting with Base Period, and continuing as Option Period 1, Option Period 2, and so on.

    • For each subsequent period:

      • The Start Date is automatically set to one day after the previous period’s End Date.

      • The End Date is automatically calculated as one year from the Start Date.

  3. Click Save.
    The POP record is added.

Editing an Existing POP

To edit an existing POP:

  1. In the POP tab, locate the POP you want to update.

  2. Click the Edit icon in the Actions column.14-1.png

  3. Modify the editable fields as required, then click Save to apply the changes.

Deleting a POP

NOTE

  • Deleting a POP record does not permanently remove the record from the system. If a POP is deleted accidentally, contact TechnoMile Support to request recovery.

  • Before deleting a POP, all associated child records must be deleted. Attempting to delete a POP with existing child records will result in an error.

To delete a POP:

  1. In the POP tab, locate the POP you want to delete.

  2. Click the Delete icon in the Actions column.

    To delete multiple POPs, select the required POPs and click the Delete icon.

  3. On the confirmation window, click Delete Period.14-8.png

Downloading the POP Table

Click the Download icon to download the POP table as an excel file.

Using the CLIN/SLINs Widget

The CLIN/SLINs widget allows you to view, add, and edit CLIN/SLINs associated with a proposal. It centralizes all CLIN/SLINs data in one structured table.

To view all the CLIN/SLINs associated with a Proposal record:

  1. In your Microsoft Dynamics instance, go to Proposals.

  2. Open a Proposal record and go to the CLIN/SLINs tab.
    The available CLIN/SLINs are listed here.16-5.png

  3. Use the Search option to locate the required CLIN/SLIN.

Customizing the CLIN/SLINs Table

To customize the columns on the CLIN/SLINs table:

  1. In the CLIN/SLINs tab, click the Settings icon.15-4.pngThe Customize Columns window opens.

  3. Click Apply Changes to save your preferences.

Using Column Filters

Each column header includes a Filter icon that allows you to narrow down the records displayed in the CLIN/SLINs table based on specific criteria.

NOTE

You can filter multiple columns at the same time, similar to how multiple filters are applied in Excel.

To use the column filters:

  1. Click the Filter icon next to a column name.

    The table updates automatically to show only matching records.

  3. Click Clear Filter to return to the full view.15-8.png

Adding a New CLIN

To add a new CLIN record:

  1. In the CLIN/SLINs tab, click Add CLIN/SLIN.

  2. Select the required Period and enter a CLIN Number.19-1.png

  3. Click Save.
    The CLIN is added.19-5.png

Adding a New SLIN

To add a new SLIN record:

  1. In the CLIN/SLINs tab, click Add CLIN/SLIN.15-3.png

  2. Select the Parent CLIN.

    NOTE

    When a Parent CLIN is selected, the Period is inherited from the Parent CLIN and the Type is automatically set to SLIN. Once the SLIN is created, the Type cannot be changed while editing the record.

  3. Enter the SLIN Number and available cost details.

  4. Click Save.
    The SLIN is added.

Editing an Existing CLIN/SLIN

To edit an existing CLIN/SLIN:

  1. In the CLIN/SLINs tab, locate the CLIN/SLIN you want to update.

  2. Click the Edit icon in the Actions column.15-10.png

  3. Modify the editable fields as required, then click Save to apply the changes.

Deleting a CLIN/SLIN

NOTE

  • Deleting a CLIN/SLIN record does not permanently remove the record from the system. If a CLIN/SLIN is deleted accidentally, contact TechnoMile Support to request recovery.

  • Before deleting a CLIN, all associated child SLINs must be deleted. If a CLIN has existing child SLINs, attempting to delete it will result in an error.

To delete a CLIN/SLIN record:

  1. In the CLIN/SLINs tab, locate the CLIN/SLIN you want to delete.

  2. Click the Delete icon in the Actions column.

    To delete multiple CLIN/SLINs, select the required CLIN/SLINs and click the Delete icon.15-12.png

  3. On the confirmation window, click Delete CLIN/SLIN.15-13.png

Downloading the CLIN/SLINs Table

Click the Download icon to download the CLIN/SLINs table as an excel file.
