Create a Spark record manually

Manually Create Sparks

Overview

The System for Award Management (SAM) is a web-based, government-wide application that collects, validates, stores, and disseminates business information about the federal government's trading partners in support of the contract awards, grants, and electronic payment processes.

SAM.GOV Connector is an application that automatically imports Opportunities from the SAM.Gov portal through the TechnoMile Analytics portal into Microsoft Dynamics,ensuring that the data is accurate and up to date.

Audience

  • Growth Suite Users

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that TechnoMile's Growth Suite is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2024_3_0_3 or higher.

  • Ensure that TechnoMile's GovSearchAI is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2025_3_0_1 or higher.

Associate an Opportunity to a Solicitation

  1. Login to your Microsoft Dynamics instance.

  2. Go to Opportunities and click an Opportunity record to open it.

  1. Go to the SAM.GOV tab and click Recommended Solicitations.

  2. Choose the Solicitation Title that you want to import and click Link to current opportunity.
    Your Spark record has been successfully imported… message displays.

Process for Known Solicitations

  1. Click Associate a different Contract Opportunity?

  2. Enter a Solicitation Number under Option 1 and click Associate.

Search for Solicitations

  1. Click Associate a different Contract Opportunity? again.

  2. Click the Option 2 section and then click Advanced Search.

  3. Enter search parameters such as Type, Place of Performance, Minimum and Maximum Values, etc. and click Search.

  4. Choose the radio button against a Solicitation Title that you want to import and click Link to current opportunity.

  1. Click Associate a different Contract Opportunity? again.

  2. Click the Option 3 section, enter a Spark ID or Spark Title, and click Associate.

  3. You can click Additional Info, Attachments/Files, Contacts, and History to view its related information.

  4. You can also click Potential Teammates to view the Potential Teammates/Competitors page on the TechnoMile Analytics portal.

  5. You can also click Recommended Contacts to view the Contacts page on the TechnoMile Analytics portal.

Import Records from Sparks

  1. Go to Sparks and click Import SAM.Gov Opportunity.

  2. Click Recommended Solicitations.

  3. Select the checkboxes against the Solicitation Titles that you want to import and click Import as Spark.

  4. Click the x icon.mceclip4.png

  5. Click Back to Search.

  6. Enter a Solicitation Number under Option 1 and click Import as Spark.

  7. Click the x icon.

  8. Click the Option 2 section and then click Advanced Search.

  9. Enter search parameters for a Contract Opportunity such as Type, Place of Performance, Minimum and Maximum Values, etc. and click Search.

  10. Select the checkboxes against the Solicitation Titles that you want to import and click Import as Spark.

  11. Click the x icon.

  12. Click the x icon again.

  13. Open Notifications by clicking the bell iconand then click to open a recently imported Spark record.

  14. Click an Agency name.

  15. Go back to the Spark record page and click Attachments/Files.

  16. Click the Add to CRM icon.
    Attachment uploaded successfully message displays.

  17. Click the x icon.

  18. Go to the Notes and Attachments tab.
    Here, you can view the file that was added in step 16. You can also click the file name to download it onto your system.

  19. Click Recommended Contacts.

Manually Create Sparks

NOTE:

While creating a Spark record manually, the standard out-of-the-box Microsoft form will display.

  1. Go to Sparks and click New.

  2. Enter details in fields such as Deal Title and Deal Stage and click a Save option.Spark record is created.
