The 2024.3 release brings new efficiency to managing contracts and subcontracts with simplified management of clauses and modifications, delivers tighter control over contract/subcontract record integrity with new clause audit tracking and revision history features, enhances clients’ ability to track commercial contracts in the CLM, and gives clients the option to use their company’s Delegation of Authority matrix to drive approval workflows. In addition, this update introduces two new offerings to our Contracts Suite. TechnoMile Transform Copilot is a powerful new tool that leverages generative AI and best-in-class Large Language Models to streamline the intake of any federal prime or subcontract, shaving significant time off contract set-up activities, while TechnoMile’s new Pre-Award application brings improved efficiency and compliance to the pre-award contract lifecycle for both government and commercial contracts.
Feature Enhancements
-
Contracts Suite: New Transform Copilot
This release introduces TechnoMile’s Transform Copilot, a powerful new tool that can be licensed alongside TechnoMile CLM to streamline the intake of any federal prime or subcontract, shaving significant time off contract set-up and freeing up contracts professionals to focus on higher-value activities. Capabilities of the Transform Copilot that excel beyond the features of our retired, legacy Intelligent Contract Ingestion solution include:- Flexibility to digitize and ingest any federal prime contract, subcontract, or purchase order to create detailed contract records (i.e., no longer limited to ingestion of only a handful of standard federal forms).
- A highly intuitive new interface and user experience for data validation, which provide users with a side-by-side view showing exactly where each data point was extracted from the original document and where it will be mapped to create the contract record in the CLM. The improved workflow also streamlines the contract clause ingestion process and matching to your Clause Library.
- Identification of data is powered by TechnoMile’s ElevateAI Service, which infuses our TechnoMile platform with the power of generative AI and best-in-class Large Language Models, underpinned by domain-trained technologies. TechnoMile trains its AI/ML models using industry-specific forms, subcontracts, and purchase orders, as well as leverages industry-specific prompts to deliver the most accurate, trustworthy outputs for GovCon and Aerospace and Defense companies.

Contracts Suite: New Pre-Award Application
This release also introduces a new Pre-Award application to TechnoMile’s Contracts Suite, which is designed to bring improved efficiency and compliance to the client’s pre-award contract lifecycle for both government and commercial contracts. The new application can be licensed alongside TechnoMile CLM and includes the ability to:- Track any type of incoming Solicitation from the government (including its related documents/files), route the solicitation internally for review/approval, capture the bid/no bid decision, and notify the Proposal team regarding the bid/no bid decision and/or any solicitation amendments that are received.
-
Track the creation of proposals as well as commercial SOWs, including information regarding the proposal team, proposed pricing and costs, any federal clauses, and any TINA exemption. Seamless with SharePoint supports collaboration on the proposal, which can then be routed for internal review and approval prior to submission to the customer.
-
Track and document all contract negotiations with the government in compliance with federal regulations, route negotiated values for internal review/approval, and capture all final, agreed-upon negotiated values.
-
Track and document the TINA sweep and certification process for a proposal, contract, mod, or subcontract. All supporting TINA documentation can be routed for internal review and approval and then the TINA Certification letter is generated from the system.
-
Rapidly create a new contract record, upon award, that auto-populates contract details using information from the related solicitation, proposal, Negotiation, and TINA certification records, as well as captures all related documents/files.
-
Leverage a set of 14 new reports and 1 new dashboard containing KPIs related to management of solicitations, proposals, negotiations, and TINA certification.
-
Contracts Suite: Approval Workflows Based on Delegation of Authority Matrix
TechnoMile now offers the option to implement a client’s Delegation of Authority (DoA) matrix to drive approval-related workflows within your Contracts Suite. Approval workflows can be configured to dynamically route requests based on your company’s DoA matrix, providing flexibility without compromising on compliance. NOTE: This new feature requires a Professional Services engagement to implement.
-
Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): New Commercial Contract/Subcontract Record Type
When creating a new contract or subcontract record, a “Commercial” record type is now available to the user. Contracts and subcontracts designated as “Commercial” have a modified Page Layout optimized for commercial needs – e.g., relabeled fields/tabs, government contracting-specific fields/tabs are excluded. This enables clients to more effectively track all contracts – including those unrelated to any federal/state/local business – in TechnoMile CLM.
-
CLM: Clause Management Improvements
This update includes several improvements to clause management workflows that help streamline the user experience, strengthen compliance, and extend the use of TechnoMile CLM to commercial contracts, including:- Any time the Parent Contract field is updated on a child record, clause flowdowns are now imported from the new parent contract to the child contract, ensuring that all required flowdown clauses are captured on the child record (e.g., a Task Order contract is drafted without designating its parent IDIQ; when the parent IDIQ is later added, all flowdown clauses are automatically imported to the task order contract).
- “Mandatory Clauses” are now labeled “Key Clauses” in the user interface.
- Clients now have the flexibility to designate their own primary and secondary clause types for use in their clause library – e.g., if a client wishes to add commercial terms and conditions and create clause types to associate these T&C’s with a particular business unit or customer.
-
CLM: Clause Audit Tracking
With this update, once a contract is moved out of draft status, any change to a contract’s clauses now requires that the user first create a modification record. Once the prerequisite mod is created, clauses can then be added, modified, or removed (note that rather than deleting clauses from a contract record, they are placed in a new “Removed” section on the Clauses tab). This workflow change strengthens clients’ compliance by ensuring that an auditable history of all clause updates is captured in the CLM.
-
CLM: DoDAAC and Site Tracking on Contracts and Subcontracts
Clients can now track all customer DoDAACs and/or sites associated with the performance of a contract or subcontract, providing easy visibility and reporting regarding locations where work is performed.
-
CLM: Contract and Subcontract Revision History
Contracts professionals now have the ability to unlock an active contract record and make updates to fields as part of a contract revision, either due to an internal revision or a modification. The user must enter audit notes explaining the reason for any change(s) and this information, along with details regarding all field updates made, are captured in a Related List called "Contract Audit Histories." This new feature protects the integrity of contract records while making it easy to research all updates made to a contract record and export this history if required by auditors. NOTE: This new feature requires a Professional Services engagement to implement.
-
CLM: New UI/UX for Modification Management
This release includes a new component for management of contract modifications that provides a simplified user interface and more streamlined user experience to support efficient, compliant tracking of mods throughout the contract lifecycle. NOTE: This new modification component must be installed in order to utilize the Contract and Subcontract Revision History feature included in this release (see above).
-
CLM: New Contract Hygiene Component
This new, configurable component can be included on the contract page layout, enabling clients to prompt their users to capture critical details – e.g., clauses, customer contacts, contract partners, etc. – on each contract record, improving the quality and accuracy of data for reporting. Client admins can select any child object of a contract record to include on the hygiene component and designate the minimum number of associated child records that must be created by users before the item is displayed as “complete.”
-
CLM: New Contract/Subcontract Closeout Reports
Four new closeout-related reports are available, which can be added to a user’s dashboard, including My Open Contract Closeout Tasks, My Overdue Contract Closeout Tasks, My Open Subcontract Closeout Tasks, and My Overdue Subcontract Closeout Tasks.
-
Agreement Management: New Record Type
A new “Contract” record type can now be selected when generating a new agreement, which supports clients’ commercial agreement creation needs.
-
Agreement Management: Updated Agreement Wizard Interface
The Agreement Wizard that guides users through the process of creating NDAs and TAs has a new user interface and improvements were made to streamline the selection of the Partner POC associated with the new agreement.
-
SharePoint Connector Improvements
This release includes two key improvements to TechnoMile’s SharePoint Connector for Salesforce:- Clients can now update the name of a contract/subcontract/agreement record without disrupting the connection to the corresponding folder structure in SharePoint, providing greater flexibility.
- TechnoMile has eliminated the need for middleware to support the connectivity between TechnoMile Contracts Suite and SharePoint. This removes the dependency on receiving an access token from TechnoMile’s middleware during authentication, simplifying client administration of this connector. NOTE: Your TechnoMile Customer Success Manager (CSM) will be reaching out to schedule the removal of the middleware. If your company would like to be prioritized for a nearer-term removal, please contact your CSM.
Issues Resolved
- Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Some clause titles rendering with a special character in the middle of the text.
