How Document Selection Works in Mila
To use Mila effectively, it is important to understand how the document selection works:
Mila is linked to the Summary page you open. The document linked to that summary is the document Mila will use to answer your questions.
When you launch Mila, the document is selected automatically. You can confirm which document is active by checking the document name shown in Mila’s welcome message.
You cannot manually switch documents within the Mila chat window. If you need to ask questions about a different contract, modification, or amendment, you must exit Mila and relaunch it from the Summary page of that specific document.
Using Mila for Formatting and Structured Responses
Mila can do more than answer questions; you can also ask it to format information in a specific way. This helps to quickly generate structured outputs such as tables, outlines, numbered lists, or summaries.
How to Request Formatting
Include formatting instructions in your prompt. For example, you can ask Mila to:
Create an outline
Provide a numbered list
Create an ordered table
Summarize information in a table/list
Structure information into sections
Example Prompts
Example 1: Request an Outline
Prompt: Produce an outline for this document?
Mila will generate a structured overview of the document's key sections and requirements.
Example 2: Request a Numbered List/Table Format
Prompt: Provide all POP and CLIN/SLIN details in a table format.
Mila will organize the requested details in a clear table format.
Example 3: Request Structured Formatting
Prompt: Summarize the evaluation criteria contained within this Solicitation in an ordered table.
Mila provides an ordered table summarizing the evaluation factors, their level of importance, and descriptions, if available.
