Overview
At-Risk funding is required in situations where a contractor incurs costs before receiving payment from the government. This can happen in several scenarios:
R&D Funding: Contractors may need to invest significant upfront costs in research, development, and prototyping before the government formally approves the project or releases funds.
Long-Term Contracts with staggered payments: Some government contracts may involve long timelines and spread out over several years. Contractors may need to cover operational expenses and employee salaries during periods when government payments are delayed.
Competitive Bidding: Contractors often need to invest time and resources in preparing proposals and presentations, without any guarantee of winning the contract.
Performance-based Contracts: In these contracts, payment is linked to achieving milestones, and missing them may lead to withheld payments or potential penalties.
TechnoMile's Contracts provides a standardized method to create one or more At-Risk funding allocations for any specific Contract and effectively manage the review and approval workflows. This document provides a walkthrough of the At-Risk Funding feature for Contracts.
