GovSearchAI Connector Installation and Configuration Guide

Overview

The GovSearchAI Connector is a solution built for Government Contractors to streamline federal data management, reporting, and gain more actionable intel. GovSearchAI Connector does this by centralizing real-time Federal data directly from sources such as USA Spending Federal Procurement Data Systems (FPDS) and GovSearchAI portal. Upon installation, data and functionality from these sources are available on multiple objects within your Salesforce instance, including Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities.

Note that the GovSearchAI Connector is available for installation only on Enterprise and Unlimited editions. It is NOT available on Essentials and Professional editions.

Prerequisites

• Please contact TechnoMile Support or email support@technomile.com for the following information prior to starting your installation: Analytics package installation link of version 2026.1 or higher.

Steps for Installation

You can choose to install the GovSearchAI Connector in a Sandbox/Test environment for testing, prior to its installation in your Production environment.

Please contact TechnoMile Support or email support@technomile.com for a separate GovSearchAI Connector installation link for your Sandbox/Test environment.

1. Log in to your Salesforce account.

   IMPORTANT:

   Ensure that only one instance of your Salesforce instance is open in the browser where you want to install this package.

2. Copy the installation link and paste it in a new browser tab.

3. Choose an option per your user requirements, select the I acknowledge checkbox, and click Install.
   You will receive an email notification when installation is complete.

4. Click Done to complete the installation and go back to your Salesforce instance.
   

5. Refresh the Installed Packages page to view the Analytics package in this list.
   

Steps for Configuration

Create My Domain

Important:

• Perform the following My Domain creation steps only if your Domain is NOT yet registered.

• Skip this section if your Domain is already registered.

• Choose your Domain Name carefully as once it is set, you CANNOT change it. Please contact Salesforce Customer Support, if you require a new Domain Name.

• You can either create a Domain for a self-certified URL or a custom URL that is CA Certified.

1. Click the gear icon and select Setup.
   

2. Go to My Domain using Setup search.
   

3. Enter a Domain Name and click Check Availability.
   Domain Name is Available message displays.
   

4. Click Register Domain.
   The following message displays.
   

5. Once email is received, refresh the My Domain page.

6. Click Log in or go to your email and click the received link to test your newly created Domain.
   

7. Click Open.
   New window opens with Domain Name in URL.

8. Click Deploy to Users.
   A confirmation message displays.

9. Click OK.
   Domain is deployed to all users.
   

Assign Permission Set

1. Go to Permission Sets using Setup search.

2. Open the Competitive Insights User Permission Set.
   

3. Click Manage Assignments.
   

4. Click Add Assignment.
   

5. Select a User and click Next.
   

6. Click Assign.
   Permission Set is assigned to the selected User.

7. Click Done.
   

Configure Remote Site Settings

Important:

Ensure that you have retrieved the Remote Site URL from TechnoMile Support.

1. Go to Remote Site Settings using Setup search.

2. Click New Remote Site.
   

3. Enter Remote Site Name as CompetitiveInsightsAPIURL and Remote Site URL as https://portal.technomile.com, select the Active checkbox, and click Save.
   Remote Site is created.

Configure Custom Settings

1. Go to Analytics Configuration Page using App Launcher.
   TM Analytics Admin Utility Tool page opens.

Configure TM Analytics Webservice Endpoints

Important:

Ensure that you have retrieved all the Endpoint URLs from TechnoMile Support.

1. Go to TM Analytics Webservice Endpoint and click the gear icon against AnalyticsPortalURL.
   

2. Enter Endpoint URL and click Submit. 
   

3. Click the gear icon against CompetitiveInsightsAPIURL.
   

4. Enter Endpoint URL and click Submit.
   

Configure TM Analytics GovSearchAI Setting

Important:

Ensure that you have retrieved all the TM Analytics GovSearchAI Setting details from TechnoMile Support.

1. Go to TM Analytics GovSearchAI Setting and click the gear icon.
   

2. Enter details such as Username, Password, Client ID, Client ID for Token, and Client Secret for Token and click Submit.

3. Here, you can also choose to select the New Widget UI? checkbox to view the updated UI on Widgets.
   
   All Custom Settings are configured.

Edit Account Record Page

1. Go to an Account record page using App Launcher.

2. Click the gear icon and select Edit Page.
   Lightning App Builder opens.

3. Scroll down and drag-and-drop the TM_Analytics_AccountWidgetCmp component onto the page.

4. Set Layout View of Widget to 100.

5. Click Save.
   
   A popup window opens.

6. Click Activate.
   

7. Click Assign as Org Default.
   

8. Choose Desktop and click Next.
   

9. Click Save.
   

10. Click the Back arrow icon.
    
    Account record page opens with the recently added component on it.
    

Edit Opportunity Record Page

1. Go to Lightning App Builder of an Opportunity record page.

2. Go to any tab and click Add Tab.
   

3. Click Details and select Custom as Tab Label.

4. Enter GSAI as Custom Label and click Done.
   

5. Go to the GSAI tab and drag-and-drop the TM_Analytics_SAMOpportunityWidget component onto this tab.

6. Save and activate the page.

   

7. Go back to your Opportunity record page to view the GSAI tab on it.
   

Create Integration User

Important:

Ensure that you have retrieved the Integration User - Email and Username from TechnoMile Support.

1. Go to Analytics Configuration Page using App Launcher.

2. Click Configure Integration User.
   

3. Enter the Email and Integration Username provided to you by TechnoMile Support and click Create.
   
   Integration User is created.

Create Additional Permissions Permission Set for Standard Objects

1. Go to Setup.

2. Go to Permission Sets using Setup search.

3. Click New.
   

4. Enter Label as Additional Permissions and API Name as Additional_Permissions and click Save.
   

5. Scroll down and click Object Settings.
   

6. Scroll down and click Accounts.
   

7. Click Edit.
   

8. Select the Assigned Record Types and Permission Names - Enabled checkboxes.
   

9. Select the Read Access and Edit Access checkboxes.
   

10. Click Save.
    

11. Similarly, open the Contacts object, select its Permission Names - Enabled, Read Access, and Edit Access checkboxes, and click Save.
    

12. Similarly, open the Opportunities object, select its Permission Names - Enabled, Read Access, and Edit Access checkboxes, and click Save.

    Note:

    You need to perform the Opportunities object related step, only if you are using the Sales Cloud version of Growth/GovSearchAI Suite.

    
    Additional Permissions Permission Set is created.

Assign Permission Sets to Integration User

1. Go to Users using Setup search and click to open your newly created Integration User.
   

2. Go to Permission Set Assignments and click Edit Assignments.
   

3. Select and move the following Permission Sets from Available Permission Sets to Enabled Permission Sets using the Add arrow button and click Save.

   Note:

   Assign the below listed Permission Sets as per the version of your Growth/GovSearchAI Suite.

   • GovSearchAI Platform Cloud Extension Integration User (Platform only)

   • Growth OOB Integration User Permissions (Platform only)

   • GovSearchAI OOB Integration User Permissions (Sales Cloud only)

   • Additional Permissions (both Sales Cloud and Platform)
