Add a Custom Field

Introduction

WinIt is a streamlined version of the Growth application designed specifically for small businesses and individual business owners. This compact tool provides essential features for managing Growth Opportunities, helping you streamline your sales process and boost growth without the overhead of the full-scale application.

This guide walks you through the process of adding custom fields to the Growth Opportunity object in the WinIt application.

The example on this guide is for a date field (Internal Review Date), however you can use this guide as a starting point for adding any of the different field types listed, some field types do require additional information beyond what a date field requires.

Prerequisites

• Ensure that WinIt on Growth Suite - Platform Edition is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2025.1 or higher.

Add a Custom Field to the Growth Opportunity Object

1. Login to the WinIt application.

2. Click the gear icon and select Setup.

3. Go to Object Manager.

4. Search for Growth Opportunity and open the Growth Opportunity object.

5. Go to Fields & Relationships and click New.

   NOTE:

   Before adding a new field, you can verify that the field does not already exist for this object using Quick Find.

   

6. In Step 1. Choose the field type, choose Data Type as Date and click Next.
   

7. In Step 2. Enter the details, specify the following values for the respective fields and click Next:

   • Field Label: Internal Review Date

   • Field Name: Internal_Review_Date

     NOTE:

     This field is auto-populated based on the value entered as Field Label.

   • Description: This field will be used to store the internal review date

   • Help Text: Populate this field when you know the internal review date

   • Required: Unchecked

     NOTE:

     This setting indicates if a custom field is a required field. It is recommended to keep this unchecked for custom fields.

   • Auto add to custom report type: Checked

     NOTE:

     This setting indicates if a custom field is to be considered while generating Reports. It is recommended to keep this selected for custom fields.

   • Default Value: Empty

     NOTE:

     This setting is used to populate a default field value when the page loads.

     

8. In Step 3. Establish field-level security, ensure that the Visible checkbox for Standard Platform User is selected and click Next.

9. In Step 4. Add to Dynamic Forms-enabled record pages, clear the Add Field checkbox selection and click Next.

10. In Step 5. Add to page layouts, clear all the Add Field checkbox selections and click Save.
    The custom field is added to the object and can be included in any Page Layout of Growth Opportunity.
