Safe Links is a feature in Defender for Office 365 that provides URL scanning and rewriting of inbound email messages in mail flow, and time-of-click verification of URLs and links in email messages and other locations. However, for some links, this URL rewriting feature can create issues for users who receive links.
Creating a custom Safe Links policy in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal creates the safe links rule and the associated safe links policy at the same time using the same name for both. You can exclude Salesforce links from the Safe Link rewrite and ensure that users receive a functional link.
Exclude Salesforce URLs from Defender Rewrite
- Navigate to Microsoft 365 Defender.
- Click Edit protection settings.
- In the Do not rewrite the following URLs section, enter the Salesforce domain and click Add.
*.salesforce.com/*
- Click Save to apply the change.
