GovWin IQ Configuration

Overview

The TechnoMile GovWin IQ Connector pulls data from the GovWin IQ website into your TechnoMile Growth Suite application. This guide includes steps to:

  • Obtain information you need from your GovWin IQ account

  • Configure GovWin credentials in the TechnoMile Growth Suite - Platform Edition

  • Test the GovWin IQ Connector

    • You will be able to link a Growth Opportunity to a GovWin Opportunity ID and view the GovWin information directly within the Growth Suite.

NOTE:

GovWin IQ Connector for TechnoMile Growth Suite - Platform Edition is designed for compatibility with Force.com App Subscription user license. However, you can also install it on Enterprise and Unlimited editions.

IMPORTANT:

  • GovWin IQ Connector initial install has a test period valid for 7 days. Please contact TechnoMile Support or email support@technomile.com to complete your GovWin IQ Connector license set up.

  • GovWin IQ credentials expire every 90 days. These credentials must be updated within TechnoMile Growth Suite each time they are updated on the GovWin IQ website.

  • This document is for the Platform Edition of TechnoMile's Growth Suite product and includes steps for configuring Growth Opportunity as its primary object. However, you can follow the same steps for configuring Opportunity that is the primary object for the Sales Cloud Edition of TechnoMile's Growth Suite product.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that Growth Suite - Sales Cloud or Platform Edition is already installed and configured. The version of this package must be 2024.3 or higher.

  • Ensure that GovWin IQ Connector version 1.30 or higher is already installed.

  • GovWin IQ Webservices has been purchased from Deltek.

Connect to GovWin IQ

Obtain Credentials from GovWin IQ

IMPORTANT:

Ensure that the GovWin IQ Webservices API is enabled for your account before proceeding with the following steps. For further assistance, contact Deltek Support Services.

Most Webservice logins are not associated with a personal account. They may be something such as: webservices@companyname.com.

  1. Go to the Deltek GovWin IQ website, enter Login credentials, and click NEXT.

  2. Click Support & Training.

  3. Click Administration.

  4. Click Enable New Application.

  5. Enter Application Name and click Generate Client ID & Secret.

    IMPORTANT:
    The Application Type must be GovWin IQ Webservices API. Any other Application Type will not work. If you do not see this value, please contact Deltek.

  6. The subsequent page will display your Client ID and Client Secret.

    IMPORTANT:

    Enter this information into the respective fields of the GovWin IQ Configuration Page in your Growth application.

GovWin IQ Configuration Page

TechnoMile has introduced an Admin panel to maintain GovWin IQ credentials.

Previously, you were required to configure GovWin IQ credentials in Salesforce - Custom Settings in order to maintain the credentials. Now, you have a dedicated page that can be accessed from Salesforce - App Launcher. This new GovWin IQ Configuration Page contains the same details that were previously stored in Custom Settings.

IMPORTANT:

  • Moving forward, the legacy Custom Settings will NOT work. All credentials must be entered and maintained in the GovWin IQ Configuration Page.

  • For existing clients, your information will be reflected in the configuration page automatically. However, the next time your Password changes, you will be required to update the Password in this page.

  • Password Restrictions: The following special characters are not supported in Passwords, as they may be interpreted as code: @, !, #, $, &, +, %, ?.

  1. Go to GovWin IQ Configuration Page using App Launcher.

    For editing an existing configuration, perform the following steps.

  2. Click the gear icon against GovWin IQ Setting.

  3. Modify the values for Email Address for Notifications, Client Id, Client Secret, your GovWin IQ User Name, Password, and End Point and click Submit.

    IMPORTANT:

    On this page, ensure that you do NOT modify the Access Token and Refresh Token.

    If you have not already configured the GovWin IQ Setting, a Not configured alert displays. Perform the following steps to complete the set up.

  4. Click the Click to Setup button against GovWin IQ Setting.

  5. Enter the values for Email Address for Notifications, Client Id, Client Secret, your GovWin IQ User Name, Password, and End Point and click Submit. While performing this step ensure the following:

    IMPORTANT:

    On this page, ensure that you do NOT modify the Access Token and Refresh Token.

  • Enter the Client Id and Client Secret that you had obtained from the Deltek GovWin IQ website in the previous topic.

  • Enter your GovWin IQ credentials in the User Name and Password fields.

  • Enter a valid email address in the Email Address for Notifications field. The address entered in this field will receive a notification when the Password is about to expire for GovWin IQ.

  • Enter the End Point as https://services.govwin.com/neo-ws

Schedule Apex Classes

NOTE:

The Apex Class scheduled in this section enables automatic data fetching from GovWin IQ into Salesforce as per the specified time interval.

You can set the scheduler as per your non-working hours to update GovWin IQ data.

  1. Click the gear icon and select Setup.

  2. Go to Apex Classes using Setup search.

  3. Click Schedule Apex.

  4. Enter Job Name and click the lookup icon to select an Apex Class.

  5. Select GovWinOPPSyncBatch against GCSIQ_Ext.

    IMPORTANT:
    While performing this step in Growth Suit - Sales Cloud Edition for Opportunity, ensure that you select GovWinOPPSyncBatch against TM_GovWinIQ.

  6. Select Frequency as Weekly to schedule Apex Class execution.

    1. Ensure that you check Recurs every week on options as per your requirement.

    2. Select Start and End dates and Preferred Start Time and click Save.

      NOTE:

      A scheduled Apex Class runs at the Preferred Start Time and updates the GovWin IQ data for each Growth Opportunity that has a valid GovWin Opportunity ID.

      Apex Class is scheduled for GovWin IQ Connector.

Customize Page Layout

Important:

The following steps are to be performed only if you are using a customized page layout for the Growth Opportunity/Opportunity object. The Intelligence tab comes pre-configured on the OOTB Growth Opportunity/Opportunity page layout.

  1. Go to Customize Growth Opp Layout using App Launcher.

  2. In the Customize Growth Opp Layout page, select a Record Type such as Regular and click Go.

    NOTE:

    For demonstration purposes, configuration of only the Regular Record Type is shown in this document. Similarly, you can configure other Record Types as per your requirement.

Add a Tab

In the Regular Record Type Page Layout, add a tab to gather and store GovWin IQ data.

  1. Click Add Tab.

  2. Enter Label as Intelligence.

  3. Select tab’s Background Color and click Add.
    Intelligence tab is added.

    Note:

    If you are unsure of what Background Color to use, the following colors are recommended:

    • Purple: #7861ed

    • Burgundy: #870500

    • Salesforce Brand Bright Blue: #1589ee

    • Salesforce Brand Dark Blue: #00396b

    • Error Red: #c23934

    • Success Dark Green: #027e46

    • Success Light Green: #4bca81

    • Burnt Orange: #844800

    • Pink: #ea8288

Rearrange Tabs

In the Customize Growth Opp Layout page, move the Intelligence tab from the last position to the second position. Note that you can rearrange the Intelligence tab to any desired position that you want.

  1. Click Re-Arrange Tab.

  2. Drag-and-drop Intelligence above Requirements and click Rearrange. Intelligence tab is rearranged.

Add a Page/Component

  1. Go to the Intelligence tab and click Add Page/Component.

    1. Enter Label as GovWinIQ.

    2. Enter Page/Component Name as GCSIQ_Ext:TM_GovWinIQ.

      Important:

      While performing this step in Growth Suite - Sales Cloud Edition for Opportunity, ensure that you enter Page/Component Name as TM_GovWinIQ:TM_GovWinIQ.

    3. Set Page/Component Width and Height as 1100 and 600.

    4. Select the Is Component checkbox.

    5. Click Add.

  2. Scroll up and click Save.

    NOTE:

    You can customize page layout for each Record Type as required. For more information, see the Growth Suite - Customize Page Layout Configuration Guide.

Verify Customized Page Layout

  1. Go to Growth Opportunities using App Launcher.

  2. Go to the Intelligence tab of a Growth Opportunity Record to view the GovWinIQ section.

Validate GovWin IQ Integration

  1. Log into the Deltek GovWin IQ website.

  2. Copy an Opportunity ID.

  3. Navigate to Salesforce.

  4. Open a Growth Opportunity record.

  5. Go to the Intelligence tab.

  6. Paste the Opportunity ID that you copied in step 2 into the GovWin Opportunity ID field and click Save.

  7. Click Get GovWinIQ Data and then click OK in the following confirmation window.
    Data will populate from the GovWin IQ website onto the Intelligence tab.
